ECO Bottle by Tupperware

Reuse and reduce!

Bottled water (Mineral water bottles)..do we really need it? Bottled water costs RM1.00 per bottle of 500ml that is 3,500 times the price of tap water! Buying these bottles and throwing them contributes to the ever increasing landfills! Imagine this, 100,000,000 PET bottles are used every year in Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei & 85,000,000 water bottles end up as garbage every year!

Remember that I mentioned it takes 1,000 years for a bottle to bio-degrade? I know what is probably in your mind "Who cares? I won't live that long anyway." Well, it's this thinking that makes Mother Earth suffer more. These bottles being not able to bio-degrade will in return clog up water ways (which then causes flood), pollute the sea (killing sea animals), WORST, over time it decomposes and leaches toxins that seep into our water system, poisoning our drinking water.

Did you know that to produce 100,000,000 litres of PET bottles equals to an additional 1,000,000 tons of carbon dioxide emitted into the environment? The effect? Global warming.

Now, do you still think you don't care at all? Think about your loved ones, your kids. Saving a few ringgits to buy a water bottle that is cheaper or re-use mineral water bottles can introduce bacterial contamination and the risk of toxic chemicals leaching into the drinking water. How? Studies have shown that PET bottles when left in the hot sun, can warp and release cancer-causing chemicals into the water!

Watch this video & you'll see what I mean :)

  1. Hi, I just bought my first pair of Tupperware water bottles! ^_^
I rinsed mine out with boiling water, to make sure they were extra clean before use.
Not too sure that was the best idea though.
These bottles are tough, right? A little hot water won't do any damage, ya think?
